Mac painterly pot1/4/2024 ![]() ![]() When MAC first came out with their paint pots, I thought it would be an exciting development. True MAC Paint Pot in Painterly is one of my very favoite makup items They make other neutral shades as well, such as Bare Ochre, which is more suited towards lighter skin types. And Painterly just happens to be one of my favorites All of the colors are excellent! Forgets other primers this should be your go-to. I have never found a product comparable to MAC's Paint Pots. The eye shadows go on more vibrantly You can see the colors more than if you applied them directly to the lid. I apply this to my eyelid, put some powder over it to set it, then apply my eyeshadow and eyeliner. ![]() It also lasts a really long time I get a new pot every few months. I have very oily eye lids, and when I say that the eye shadow doesn't go ANYWHERE, I mean it! Say good bye to creases and fading colors. Painterly is a neutral cream that I use as an eyeshadow primer. I think I have gone through at least 5 pots of MAC's Paint Pots in Painterly this year. When I wash off my makeup in the evening, it is sometimes the only thing besides my mascara that is still on. It doesn't crease at all and lasts all day long. I have tried many other eye primers, and they just don't have the coverage that the paint pot has. This stuff is talked about so much for a reason. I usually use a concealer brush to apply it and then I set it with Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder. I like to add Rosehip Seed Oil so that my lids get a little extra hydration, and it also helps the paint pot to be a little more spreadable. It is the one thing that really brightens up my appearance and makes me look alive. The paint pot is amazing for covering up the imperfections and prepping my lids for eye shadow, but most days I just wear it on it's own. I have very fair skin, and unfortunately my eyelids are super purple and my veins stick out pretty obviously. Rubenesque was gifted from my mom.I use this for my eyelids everyday. *Disclaimer: Painterly/Let’s Skate were purchased by myself. MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pots can be purchased at any MAC store or counter, and online at ĭo you have a favourite Paint Pot I should check out? What one? (Note: Painterly & Rubenesque are both at least 1 year old and the non “longwear” formula however the ingredient list has remained the same, so take that information as you please.) (L-W Painterly, Rubenesque, Let’s Skate!) ^ Notice how pretty and sparkly Let’s Skate is in the swatch!?! (The glitter is easier to see in the swatches below.) This one is quite opaque, it’s not as smooth as the others (due to all the glitter), but will still cover any discolouration quite nicely. It is an almost white base jammed packed with loads, and I mean LOADS of beautiful multicoloured glitter. The most recent paint pot I’ve purchased is called Let’s Skate a “pale pink with pearl” as MAC describes. It’s the smoothest paint pot I own, and always looks great no matter now rushed the application was. ![]() It’s absolutely gorgeous on it’s own, or paired up with a sparkly gold patted on top. Rubenesque is described as “golden peach with gold pearl”. Not too long after getting Painterly, I was gifted Rubenesque from my mom. I apply with a clean finger, to warm the product up a bit, and it blends out flawlessly. Instead of using it for colour, I use it as a primer of sorts before applying any eyeshadow to make them last all day without creasing. It’s great at making your veins/discolouration around the eye area disappear. Painterly is a very opaque light “nude beige” colour, and not too different from my skin tone. I’ve watched many youtube beauty gurus proclaiming this as a “holy grail” eye product. (L-R: Let’s Skate!, Rubenesque, Painterly) So far I’ve only collected three of these suckers, but I’m sure it won’t be long before I add more to my collection. Today I’ve got a review of one of my favourite makeup products: MAC (Pro Longwear) Paint Pots. ![]()
